Seventy-four striking police reservists were expected to appear in court on Tuesday for a strike that turned violent in the Johannesburg CBD, police said.
Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said the reservists were arrested on Monday and charged with public violence.
He could not say whether any reservists were expected to protest outside the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court, nor whether the reservists' strike was expected to continue in the CBD.
"At the moment it is quiet. We haven't been informed of anything," he said. - Sapa
